Another awards ceremony, another victory lap for Ben Affleck's 'Argo'! If it doesn't scoop up Best Picture at the Oscars next week, there are going to be a lot of very confused bookies. The latest accolade for the critically acclaimed crowd-pleaser comes courtesy of the Writer's Guild of America, who awarded screenwriter Chris Terrio the trophy for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The award for Best Original Screenplay went to Mark Boal for 'Zero Dark Thirty.' However, he doesn't have the Academy Award in the bag just yet! Boal's main competition at the Oscars this year is Quentin Tarantino's script for 'Django Unchained,' which wasn't eligible and therefore wasn't nominated here since Tarantino isn't a member of the WGA. It'll be an interesting showdown since Boal's script for 'The Hurt Locker' beat out Tarantino's script for 'Inglourious Basterds' at the Oscars a few years back.

Over in the television awards, 'Breaking Bad' won Outstanding Achievement in Writing a Drama Series (which went to the entire writing staff) and 'Mad Men' won Outstanding Achievement in Writing Episodic Drama for the episode "The Other Woman" (which went to the episode's writers, Semi Chellas and Matthew Weiner). The two comedy awards went to 'Louie' and 'Modern Family,' with the former nabbing Outstanding Achievement in Writing a Comedy Series and the latter taking home Outstanding Achievement in Writing Episodic Comedy for the episode 'Virgin Territory.' Lena Dunham's 'Girls' continued its hot streak by winning the Best New Series award.
