Talk about an upset! We knew 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' to be among the better freshman offerings from the most recent TV season, but 'SNL' alum Andy Samberg set that in stone by winning Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical at the 2014 Golden Globes!

Prophetically introduced as THE Andy Samberg by 'SNL' cast member and 'Late Show' host Seth Meyers, Samberg gratefully accepted the Golden Globe award for his role as Detective Jake Peralta of FOX's breakout comedy series. Samberg comically hadn't anticipated winning over such shoe-in contenders and, without anything rehearsed, generically thanked the cast and crew and all those on his "team." As Meyers himself put it, "best night ever!"

First-time nominee and winner Samberg beat out the heroic likes of Jason Bateman for 'Arrested Development,' Don Cheadle for 'House of Lies,' Michael J. Fox for 'The Michael J. Fox Show,' and the nigh-unbeatable Jim Parsons of 'The Big Bang Theory.'

We're a bit hard-pressed to concede Samberg as the best element of 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' but quite the upset, don't you think? Did Andy Samberg deserve the Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical at the 2014 Golden Globes?
