‘Arrow’ Season 3: Matt Nable is DC Baddie Ra’s al Ghul!

Ladies and gentlemen, Ra's al Ghul has arrived! After two seasons of 'Arrow' teasing, an epic Comic-Con 2014 reveal trailer and more, the DC drama has finally cast its iconic DC baddie. Per series star Stephen Amell, meet the new head of the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul, as played by 'Riddick' star Matt Nable!

Amell's announcement arrives after months of speculation, following the San Diego confirmation that Ra's al Ghul would feature into 'Arrow' season 3 as its big bad. The DC drama had alluded to the typically-Batman character in its first season, before formally name-dropping him in season 2, and finally teasing his new visage in a season 3 trailer. The CW also confirms Matt Nable's Ra's al Ghul will first appear in episode 4 of the new season, "The Magician." Per Amell:

Nable doesn't have too many credits to his name, his most recognizable appearance being that of 2013's 'Riddick,' though the actor has a larger fanbase in Australia as a former rugby player. The announcement also caps off a recent story suggesting 'Batman Begins' star Liam Neeson would be open to reprising the role, despite the oft-ignored absurdity of the idea.

Most recently adding Amy Gumenick as DC's Cupid and 'Glee''s Nolan Funk as Felicity's flashback boyfriend, 'Arrow' season 3 has also recruited 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh in a major recurring role as tech magnate (and likely Felicity love interest) Ray Palmer, better known as DC's "The Atom." Not only that, but '22 Jump Street''s Peter Stormare will act as our new Vertigo, J.R. Ramirez will appear as DC superhero Wildcat, David Cubitt will play DC's Manhunter, Matt Ward will play Komodo, and ‘Real Steel’ star Karl Yune will play Oliver’s flashback Hong Kong handler alongside Rila Fukushima as DC's Katana, having replaced Devon Aoki.

Departed series stars Caity Lotz and Colin Donnell will also return for early episodes this season, and we've also got our first full look at Colton Haynes' costume in his new vigilante persona of "Arsenal," as well, in addition to the latest premiere photos from season 3 opener, "The Calm."

We'll reserve judgment until Nable actually makes his formal appearance as Ra's al Ghul, but what do you think?
