‘The Bridge’ Canceled: No Season 3 From FX, But Potentially Another Network

We certainly enjoyed FX's slow-burning border drama remake 'The Bridge' through its first two seasons, even with some admitted stumbling through the inaugural year, but the network appears to have lost patience. Following its second season finale, FX has opted not to renew 'The Bridge' for season 3, but is there any hope beyond cancellation?

FX made the rather unceremonious announcement to press, declining to offer any details of 'The Bridge''s cancellation, though the series was somewhat well-known for lagging behind other FX dramas in both viewership and awards. Unsurprisingly however, Shine America announced plans to continue the critically-appreciated Diane Kruger-Demian Bichir drama, in searching for a new network:

For those unfamiliar, 'The Bridge' follows Sonya Cross (Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Bichir), detectives from El Paso and Juarez who partner to solve crimes along the US-Mexican border. Remade from a Danish drama, the series also featured 'The Descendants’ star Matthew Lillard, ‘Breaking Bad‘'s Emily Rios, 'Silence of the Lambs' Ted Levine, 'Sons of Anarchy' star Annabeth Gish and Thomas M. Wright.

It's certainly rare to see FX canceling an hourlong drama these days, considering even the low-rated 'Tyrant' got a second year order (less likely for season 3, admittedly), but what say you? Did you catch enough of 'The Bridge' in two seasons to lament its cancellation?
