Stocks in magic are down. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was less than fantastic (hey-o), the much-touted stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won’t come to Broadway for months, and we can assume that the constant onslaught that was 2016 sapped many children of their belief in the wonder of magic. The Harry Potter-industrial complex needs a shot in the arm, and head honchos over at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park may have just the thing to inspire a little excitement.

/Film reports that in the first half of 2017, a new nighttime show will come to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Orlando. Not unlike the famed ‘nighttime spectaculars’ at Disney’s various theme parks, the proposed show will use projection mapping (the same technology that makes a giant Elsa from Frozen belt out a tune on the front of the Disney Castle) to make a splashy spectacle appear on the side of the Hogwarts facilities. Details from the Orlando Informer don’t go much more specific than that, but the possibilities of what could end up projected on the walls are pretty expansive, with eight novels’ worth of marvels to choose from.

The park has always been very proud of its gigantic roaring dragon — perhaps crowds should expect to see it flying onto the building to belch fire and sound a mighty roar. Or maybe Hermione will show up to deliver a long, carefully-argued diatribe about the importance of house-elf civil rights. Both, equally thrilling propositions.
