If the past year in TV has proven anything, sequel series and movie tie-ins are no longer a guarantee of success, so where might A&E (formerly Lifetime)’s The Omen sequel Damien land? A slick new teaser for the demonic thriller recreates one of the horror film’s most enduring images, which at least ups the creep factor.

Following the earlier debut over the summer, A&E has released a stylish 2016 teaser for its new Damien series, going in reverse to recreate the original Omen film’s most iconic line, albeit with a significantly greater fall.

So reads the official synopsis for Damien:

“Damien” follows the adult life of Damien Thorn (Bradley James), the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist. Barbara Hershey stars as Ann Rutledge, the world’s most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny. Omid Abtahi portrays Amani Golkar, a close colleague of Damien’s whose fierce loyalty will be tested when he realizes who his brother-in-arms actually is. Meganlyn Echikunwoke plays Simone Baptiste, a woman whose life is thrown into turmoil when tragedy unexpectedly strikes.

The series arrives from former The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara, and even features Herhel himself, Scott Wilson. You might also recognize the name Meganlyn Echikunwoke as the same Vixen soon to debut in live-action on The CW’s Arrow. In the meantime, check out the teaser above and trailer below, and stay tuned for the 2016 premiere.
