Last week, Deadline reported that Paramount’s planned Baywatch reboot film starring none other than Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson has begun to run screen tests in search of a worthy leading lady to bound pendulously down the beach alongside him. Among the actresses in consideration were True Detective alum Alexandra Daddario, Ashley Benson of Spring Breakers notoriety, The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev, Alexandra Shipp (slated for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse), Teen Wolf’s Shelley Henning, Bianca Santos of The Duff, and Big Time Rush star Denyse Tontz. Presumably through some grueling gauntlet of physical challenges and tests of buoyancy, they competed for the distinct honor of appearing onscreen with Johnson and slated costar Zac Efron. And now, at long last, a victor has been crowned.

In a post on Dwayne Johnson’s official Instagram account (that’s @therock, for those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the man’s social media presence), he confirmed that his former San Andreas costar Alexandra Daddario would be donning the signature bathing suit for another romp down the shore. The caption that Johnson appended to the smiling photo of himself and Daddario is a real doozy, take a look:

IT’S OFFICIAL: Want to welcome the talented and gorgeous @alexannadaddario to the cast of #BAYWATCH for the role of “Summer”. Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can’t wait for you guys to see her own the role. The female roles of #BAYWATCH have become extremely hot properties around Hollywood and as promised, the quality women we’ll cast are stepping into these roles to have fun and make them iconic for the world to enjoy. The #BaywatchFamily so far consists of a tatted up bald guy named Rock, the cool, yet extremely unattractive Zac Efron, the talented and gorgeous Alexandra Daddario…and some big casting announcements coming soon. And juuuuust wait til you guys see who we cast for the iconic role of “CJ Parker”....👀 #CueSlowMotionRunningDownTheBeach #WhosPuttingTanningOilOnMyBack? #GetReadyForSomeFunInTheSun #BAYWATCH 👊🏾🌊

A bright day for Daddario, to be sure. Though what’s the real honor here: landing the role, or getting featured on a pedestal as prestigious as the Rock’s Instagram account?
