'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' is on a roll with casting. Following news of Jena Malone and Philip Seymour Hoffman joining the cast, we've gotten word that veteran actress Amanda Plummer has also signed on for the role of Wiress in the upcoming sequel.

Amanda Plummer, known best for her role in 'Pulp Fiction,' has signed on for the 'Hunger Games' sequel as Wiress, an eccentric (you don't say) character with the nickname "Nuts," who, according to the press release, "doesn't communicate traditionally," though her skills elsewhere are considered integral to the competition. That competition this time around is known as the "Quarter Quell."

The sequel finds arrow-slinging heroine Katniss Everdeen and her co-champion Peeta Mellark going on a "victor's tour" of all the districts following the events of the titular Hunger Games in the first film. As it turns out, there's some rebellion brewing among the districts as President Snow prepares for the Quarter Quell -- the 75th Hunger Games competition.

Honestly, we're surprised it took them this long to rebel. You're telling us a bunch of hardworking, industrious types who have been forced to adapt to harsh living conditions because the rich people hog all the nice things can't overtake a few prissy-pants rich folks in clown make-up? Please.

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' will be directed by Francis Lawrence ('I Am Legend') and opens nationwide on November 22, 2013.
