This past week has suddenly turned into the battle for attention between the three comic book adapted movies that are scheduled to be released throughout this summer. The first one to get loads of hype was 'The Avengers'  and then 'The Dark Knight Rises' chucked out some new photos. But what about 'The Amazing Spider-Man'?

No need to fear, the latest poster for the upcoming Sony Pictures project is here!

Surely there are at least some fanboys/fangirls out there who are still quietly salivating over the thought of seeing Peter Parker be re-imagined with the help of director Marc Webb ('500 Days of Summer') and actor Andrew Garfield ('Never Let Me Go'), right? Right.

In 'The Amazing Spider-Man' we follow our hero Peter Parker (Garfield) back in his high school days once again. The young brainiac was abandoned by his parents and is being lovingly watched over by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). He tries to find his own identity in the peer pressure filled teenager world and how to approach his crush, Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). All of that gets turned upside down not only when he gets bit by the radioactive spider, but when he finds a mysterious briefcase that may be the key to uncovering why his parents left him. He looks for help and finds it from Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans) who's alter-ego, The Lizard, may lead the new Spider-Man to an early grave.

Go on, sneak a peek at the new poster which continues the trend of reflecting some of New York City from his goggles. 'The Amazing Spider-Man' will be released in theaters on July 3, 2012.
