AMC Sets June Premiere for Lee Pace's 'Halt & Catch Fire,' Passes on David Morrissey's 'Line of Sight'Kevin Fitzpatrick |
AMC hasn't been shy with its upcoming drama addition 'Turn,' though we haven't seen very much of its other major 2014 offering 'Halt & Catch Fire,' starring 'Guardians of the Galaxy''s Lee Pace as a pioneer of the computer revolution. Good news! The network has officially set a June premiere for the drama, but opted not to move forward with 'Walking Dead' star David Morrisey's new series, 'Line of Sight.'
Via AMC, 'Halt & Catch Fire' has officially been scheduled for a premiere on Sunday, June 1. Set in the 1980s against the backdrop of the personal computing boom, the series was created by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rodgers with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein (‘Breaking Bad’) as executive producers. Starring Pace, the drama features a fictional visionary character, an engineer and a prodigy responsible for innovations that “directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time.”
Additionally, Deadline revealed that AMC won't move forward with David Morrissey's headlining sci-fi series, 'Line of Sight,' but don't expect him to pop back up on 'The Walking Dead' anytime soon. Created by ‘Brotherhood”s Blake Masters and directed by Jonathan Demme, the “genre-bending odyssey” follows a National Transportation Safety Board investigator named Lewis Bernt (Morrisey), who survives a mysterious plane crash and sets out to discover what happened to him by delving into a world of obsession and paranoia.
It's a shame we won't see Morrissey again on AMC in the foreseeable future, but what do you think of 'Halt & Catch Fire'? Does AMC's scripted fare beyond 'The Walking Dead' and 'Mad Men' look to be in good hands?
