And you thought Angelina Jolie's right leg at the 2012 Academy Awards was a horrifying story enough in it's own right.

While it's unlikely that 'American Horror Story', for all of its acclaim, would be able to recruit the reclusive mega-star for a major role on the upcoming second season,  the series could at least be searching for a cheaper facsimile. Paging Olivia Wilde, anybody?

TVLine is reporting the FX horror thriller has begun the search for a major new season 2 role in that of "Gia," an arch-nemesis of sorts for Jessica Lange's as-yet-unidentified lead character.  You'll recall that the HBO film 'Gia' provided Angelina Jolie's first big break, appropriating the story of real-life model Gia Carangi.  The 'American Horror Story' role is said to be a "fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret," and even the casting call evokes Jolie, specifying "think Angelina Jolie in 'Girl, Interrupted'.”

Even though the role has yet to be cast, this news joins the other recent casting announcements of the forthcoming second season of 'American Horror Story' that not only would season 1 stars Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto return for major roles, but so too would Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Lily Rabe be along for the ride as well.

'American Horror Story' season 2 will begin production some time in mid-July, but who would you like to see take the role, if not Angelina herself?  Having seen the latest episodes of 'Spartacus: Vengeance', my money's on Hanna Mangan Lawrence!
