For those of you keeping up with the series, 'American Horror Story: Asylum' dropped a massive, and bloody reveal on the audience with last night's "I Am Anne Frank, Pt. 2," exposing the true identity of seriak killer "Bloody Face!"  Of course, neither the mystery nor the horror end there, as plenty of questions have yet to be answered across the season.  That in mind, where might the Ryan Murphy horror-thriller series go next?  Will we delve deeper into Bloody Face?  What about the aliens?  Yes, the aliens!

The cat's out of the bag, or rather the man's out of the mask, as 'American Horror Story: Asylum' last night revealed the true identity of depraved serial killer Bloody Face to be  - SPOILER ALERT - none other than Dr. Oliver Thredson (Zachary Quinto), the very psychiatrist appointed to evaluate accused suspect Kit Walker!  However, with the killer revealed, and Lana Winters (Sarah Paulson) now out of Briarcliff and in his custody, what else will we learn about the mysterious murderer?

Entertainment Weekly had a chance to speak to series creator Ryan Murphy, who laid out how we'll explore the origin of Bloody Face:

There’s three episodes in a row that really get you deep into the mind of this killer and a lot of backstory explanation and a lot of flashbacks that talk about why he is doing what he’s doing and how is society to blame in some regard. They’re really tough to watch and strong.

We did it last year with Evan [Peters]’s character but that was really an unexplainable crime. We really construct this serial killer that is based on two or three serial killers...This is a serial killer with really really bad mommy issues. It’s explained and it’s somewhat chilling.

That's all very well and good, but considering the amount of horror thrown at the wall by 'American Horror Story: Asylum,' we have to ask: what do the aliens have to do with it all?  Will we learn more, now that Grace (Lizzie Brochere) seems to have encountered them as well?  Playing coy, Murphy would only confirm that " I think it’s interesting the aliens come after Kit has sex with women. That’s a really good clue. People should look at that. There’s something about that."

What say you?  Were you surprised by the identity of Bloody Face?  What do you think the aliens have to do with it all?  Give us your 'American Horror Story: Asylum' theories in the comments!
