It really is an odd thing to view all these 'American Horror Story: Asylum' teasers day in and day out.  You get to wondering, did they sit in a conference room for days on end coming up with unnerving 10-second concepts?  Did they hire out a team of film students?  Has 'LOST' truly found a spiritual successor that invites people to assign meaning to the most nonsensical of images?  What patterns do you see in the brief new spot?

We woke up on the planet Earth today, and the sun appeared to have risen, so from there we extrapolated that another 'American Horror Story: Asylum' teaser was on its way.  And so it was.  But where most of the teasers for the second season of Ryan Murphy's horror serial offer at least some tenuous clue into the proceedings to debut on FX October 17, the latest returns us to the general sentiment of "okay then."

Dubbed "Exam," we see flashes of a face in distress, no doubt being examined in some cruel fashion by the doctors of the vicious Briarcliff Asylum and...that's it.  Might it be a hint of those aliens we've supposedly heard of?  Well hey, think of it this way.  There's always tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day...

In addition to returning season 1 veterans Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Frances Conoy, ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ adds new series stars Franka Potente, ‘The Voice‘ judge and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, ‘Step Up’s Jenna Dewan,‘Carnivale’ star Clea DuVall, ‘Americanized ‘Skins’ star Britne Oldford, ‘Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny, French actress Lizzie Brochere, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.
