‘American Horror Story: Asylum’s Latest Teaser is Trying Even Less

American Horror Story Season 2 Asylum White Rave

We like to have a lot of fun at the expense of ‘American Horror Story: Asylum‘s teasers, which while creepy, come out with increasing frequency and decreasing sanity every week.  We were hoping that with the release of some cool new photos from the forthcoming season today, things might start picking up.  Now, the latest bizarre look at ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ has emerged, and something about it feels strangely familiar…

Once the creeping feelings of dread subside, we usually have a good laugh at the ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ teasers for their marked ridiculousness.  This past Friday the strangest yet seemed to arrive, where a number of ghoulish figures crowded under s strobe-light and passed a bucket of body parts over them.  Despite the upbeat music, we assumed that the scene wasn’t intended as a rave given ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’s 1960′s setting, but now it appears we might have been duped.

The latest promo “Red Rave” highlights the exact same techno-dance scene, but instead of passing the bucket of body parts, that creepy white nun crowd-surfs over everyone!  Just what’s going on in these promos?  Does the asylum in question have some kind of anachronistic rave room buried in the basement?  Are we simply being trolled at the point?  What could any of it possibly mean?

Sigh, we digress.  As we love to remind you, ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ still boasts an incredible amount of star power, including most recently ‘The Bourne Identity’ actress Franka Potente, ‘The Voice‘ judge and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, ‘Step Up’s Jenna Dewan,‘Carnivale’ star Clea DuVall, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ star Chris Zylka, Americanized ‘Skins’ star Britne Oldford, ‘Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny, French actress Lizzie Brochere, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.

The latest promo is below, take a look, and see if you can make sense of anything in the comments!
