Latest ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ Teaser Shows…Uh…Something?

At this point, we think Ryan Murphy is simply trolling ‘American Horror Story‘ fans.  The second season has released yet another cryptic teaser, seemingly even less clear than the bizarrely creepy first few, and we can’t make heads or tails of it.  Literally!  Check out the new spot for ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ running on FX, and tell us what you think of the creepy “Hydrobath!”

FX has unveiled yet another creep-tastic look at ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ via the show’s Facebook page, perhaps even stranger than the first two.  Where our first look saw a nun ominously scattering body parts in an empty clearing, and the second highlighted a creepy all-white nun hanging a shirt while another prayed in the background, the third spot shows us…uh…

What are we looking at, exactly?  The spot is called “Hydrobath,” so we’ll presume that’s the tub we’re looking into, but who’s hiding under the surface, first surfacing a knee, and finally their back?  And what’s with the canvas top zipping up of its own accord?  Actually, having taken another look, the image looks suspiciously like…uh…a lady’s…you know.  And now you can’t un-see it.

Regardless of its teasers, ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ still boasts an incredible amount of star power, including most recently ‘The Bourne Identity’ actress Franka Potente, ‘The Voice‘ judge and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, ‘Step Up’s Jenna Dewan,‘Carnivale’ star Clea DuVall, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ star Chris Zylka, Americanized ‘Skins’ star Britne Oldford, ‘Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny, French actress Lizzie Brochere, Joseph Fiennes and James Cromwell.

Also returning from the first season are Jessica Lange, upgraded  series regular Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe. As previously reported, all will be playing new characters independent of the first season in the show’s rebooted 1960′s asylum setting, which Lange’s character presides over.
