FX's fourth season of Ryan Murphy frightfest 'American Horror Story' has put the 'Freak Show' on display in the latest teasers, but where previously we'd have to wait longer for a look at the actual cast, the whole troupe has come front and center. Meet the cast of 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' in the first poster, and check out another brand-new creepy teaser!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the newest look at the FX 'Freak Show' gives off our first glimpse of the main cast and their requisite 'Freak' status, including Emmy-winner Kathy Bates as bearded lady Effil Darling, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' star Evan Peters as her son Jimmy, Angela Bassett's tri-boobed Desiere Dupree and Sarah Paulson's two-headed Bette and Dot Tattler. The new poster also affords our first looks at returning Denis O'Hare and Frances Conroy, and newcomer Michael Chiklis' strongman character Wendell Del Toredo.

As for that cryptic hashtag at the bottom, the phrase "Wir sind alle freaks" translates from German to "we are all freaks." The more you know! Said Murphy of the darkness inherent to the new season:

It's darker than Coven; it feels very unique. I directed the first one and I haven't done that since the very first one of season one. It feels like a Douglas Sirk movie, it's very 1952 presentational and then the horror is an unexpected jab. As opposed to last year, which was crazy camera work and comedy. This year feels different.

The special ability cast that we have is amazing and I feel so thrilled because so many of them, it was their dream to be actors and they didn't have any opportunities. There's a great community. They feel part of something perhaps for the first time in their life and that's an amazing thing that I was really emotional about when I was directing them.

Premiering Wednesday, October 8, here's how FX officially describes its fourth season 'Freak Show':

'American Horror Story: Freak Show' begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

The new ‘Freak Show’ season will see franchise veteran Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars, a German ex-patriot running one of the last American freak shows, which also includes rescued “unusuals” from the likes of ‘Coven‘ and franchise stars Gabourey Sidibe and Emma Roberts. 'The Normal Heart' stars Matt Bomer and Finn Wittrock will both take new roles, while Wes Bentley will guest in a Halloween arc.

Additionally, original 'Fargo' star John Carroll Lynch will play the season's big bad clown killer "Twisty," singer Patti LaBelle will play Gabourey Sidibe's mother, and the world's smallest woman Jyoti Amge will guest as someone predictably tiny. Lest we forget, there are also the other details teased from Comic-Con 2014.

We've included the latest 'Freak Show' teaser from Entertainment Weekly as well, so take a look above and below, and tell us what you want to see from 'American Horror Story' season 4 in the comments!
