'American Hustle' won Best Picture, Comedy at the 2014 Golden Globes, announced Sunday, January 12 during the live ceremony hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

Directed by David O. Russell,' 'American Hustle' competed against Spike Jonze's 'Her,' the Coen brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis,' Alexander Payne's 'Nebraska' and Martin Scorsese's 'The Wolf of Wall Street.'

David O. Russell received acclaimed at 2013's Golden Globes ceremony, where Jennifer Lawrence walked away with the award for Best Actress, Drama for his 'Silver Linings Playbook,' a role for which she also won the Oscar. After fast-tracking production on his follow-up, 'American Hustle,' Russell received early acclaim for the film, which was also nominated in the categories for Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Screenplay.

'American Hustle' stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner, and is loosely based the real-life ABSCAM scandal where two con people (Bale, Adams) were forced into working for the FBI to take on corruption in New Jersey power brokers and mafia.
