Anyone initially skeptical of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy quickly changed their tune at the prospect of talking raccoons and trees, something Disney XD’s upcoming animated rendition knows full-well. Our latest look at Guardians of the Galaxy writes a love letter to all raccoons, talking or otherwise.

As debuted over on TVInsider, our latest Guardians of the Galaxy sneak peak focuses on the most majestic of creatures, the stately raccoon. Not all of our bandit-masked furry friends blow up or destroy as much as dear Rocket, but Groot’s best pal might drag the whole species’ reputation down, by all the latest carnage on display.

Premiering through August and September, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy features Will Friedle as Star-Lord, David Sobolov as Drax, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot and Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, and James Arnold Taylor as both Yondu and Cosmo. So reads the full synopsis:

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy follows the newly-formed team who finds a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed which is capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic Seed in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power, from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki, in order to save the universe.
