Fans of The CW's 'Arrow' have been on pins and...well, arrows in waiting for the casting announcement of Ra's al Ghul, but the League of Assassins head won't be the last DC villain to cross paths with Oliver Queen this year. The latest to enter the fray is 'Tron: Legacy' star Matt Ward as DC archer Komodo, while we've also learned that Felicity backstory episode "Oracle" may not have as significant a title as we'd hoped.

Per Entertainment Weekly, 'Arrow''s incarnation of comic archer villain will see Ward appearing early in the season as Simon Lacroix, "a deadly mercenary using the code name Komodo, who wreaks havoc in Starling City." Intriguingly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased that while Komodo would only act as a minor villain, the character's appearance will have a stronger tie to the season overall than in previous years:

Yes, he’s the villain-of-the-week for the second week of the show, but you’ll see that Team Arrow’s pursuit of him is part and parcel of a season-long storyline. You’re going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little bit tied in better with the season-long mythology than villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past.

Additionally, episode 5 of the season has been revealed to drop the "Oracle" title teased at Comic-Con 2014, instead adopting a more self-explanatory moniker "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” We'll still learn the character's MIT backstory and meet her cocktail waitress mother, as played by 'NYPD Blue' alum Charlotte Ross, but don't expect Felicity to take up Barbara Gordon's comic mantle with the other "Birds of Prey" just yet.

Most recently adding David Cubitt as DC's Manhunter, 'Arrow' season 3 has also recruited 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh in a major recurring role as tech magnate (and likely Felicity love interest) Ray Palmer, better known as DC's "The Atom." Not only that, but '22 Jump Street''s Peter Stormare will act as our new Vertigo, J.R. Ramirez will appear as DC superhero Wildcat, and ‘Real Steel’ star Karl Yune will play Oliver’s flashback Hong Kong handler, along with ‘Sin City‘ star Devon Aoki as comic character Katana.

Both Caity Lotz and Colin Donnell will return for early episodes this season, and we've also got our first full look at Colton Haynes' costume in his new vigilante persona of "Arsenal," as well.

We'll keep our ears in Nanda Parbat for news of Ra's al Ghul, but in the meantime, what say you? Do the latest DC ties to 'Arrow' season 3 have you excited for the show's October 8 premiere? Watch the latest trailer below in the meantime, and tell us what you want to see from the DC drama this fall!
