‘Arrow’ Photos: “The Return” of Slade Wilson Brings an Island Switcheroo

Now that Team Arrow has officially reunited and put battling “Canaries” behind them, Oliver and Thea will next head to the island of Lian Yu in preparation for Ra’s al Ghul’s return. That said, “The Return” is exactly what Slade Wilson was counting on, as Manu Bennett resurfaces to jack some Queens in the first photos of next week’s Arrow!

While Oliver and Thea find the unexpected threat of an escaped Slade Wilson waiting for them on the island, flashback Oliver will balance out the timelines with “The Return” to Starling City. The poor beleaguered Mr. Queen has to keep away from his friends and family (and their terrible flashback wigs) however, while Amanda Waller and Maseo attempt to keep him on mission to find China White.

So reads Arrow’s official description of next week’s “Return”:

THE RETURN OF DEATHSTROKE AND TOMMY MERLYN — Malcolm (John Barrowman) puts Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) in a dangerous situation that lands them on Lian Yu with Oliver’s former enemy, Deathstroke (guest star Manu Bennett). A flashback reveals when Oliver and Maseo (guest star Karl Yune) returned to Starling City to retrieve the Omega bio weapon, and despite being under strict orders from Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) not to reveal himself to anyone, Oliver looks in on his family, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (guest star Colin Donnell)

Something smells a little funky with continuity to have Oliver returned to Starling City in flashback, but the present-day return of Slade Wilson should do plenty to keep things fresh.
