Many 'Glee' fans are complaining loudly after it was announced that Ashley Fink, who plays the sassy Lauren Zizes, won't be back on the show. But the actress is much more zen about it, saying the dismissal is just part and parcel of being involved in the ever-evolving cast.

Just a few months ago, 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy said that while Fink would see her screen time reduced during the third season, she wouldn't be gone and would in fact have "a major story" with Chris Colfer's character, Kurt. But this being 'Glee,' plans can change on a dime.

"It is what it is," Fink told TheInsider. "Lauren's somewhere in that school, she's just not on camera or being talked about. She's involved in activities that aren't televised."

And while she's sad about not being involved in filming anymore, she conceded, "'Glee' is very much a fly by the seat of your pants [operation] in the way that best laid plans never quite come together ... I think once they made the decision that all these characters were going to graduate [from high school], it shifted the way this season was going to go."

But that doesn't mean she no longer keeps in touch with her former cast members. She's still close friends with Colfer, and showed up last weekend as he premiered 'Struck By Lightning,' a movie he wrote and stars in.

"It's amazing, he's a 20 year old savant," she said about Colfer. "I didn't have time to do anything but sleep [while I was on 'Glee'], but he was casting a movie and writing a book in between performances. It's crazy. I'm so proud of him."
