Thanks to a new video primer from Ubisoft, you can get up to speed on just what Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will have to offer.
Whether you know only a little or a lot about Edward Kenway and the crew of the Jackdaw, you'll be chock full of information by the end of the video. In the Story section, you'll learn about Kenway and the compatriots he meets along the way, like the female pirate Anne Bonny and the fearsome Blackbeard. The Naval section provides information on how you can upgrade the Jackdaw to take on other ships on the high seas.
The Locations section gives us a tour of the Caribbean and the many exotic locales it offers. There are jungles, plantations, coves and lots of different cities to explore. The Pirate's Life section teaches you how to be a scoundrel by playing games, drinking some grog and hanging out with wenches. The Underwater section gives you a peek at how diving bells will allow Kenway to dive deep below the surface of the ocean to search out treasure.
You'll see how you can hunt the beasties of the seas in the Animals section. You can harpoon sharks or track many land animals in order to sell them as trophies or use them for crafting. The bread and butter of an Assassin's Creed title are Stealth and Weapons. In this section, you'll be introduced to the new blowpipe weapon, which allows you to silently take down enemies from afar. And of course, the hidden blade makes a return, now complemented by multiple pistols, cutlasses, muskets and more.
Watch the video above to see all of these things in action and brush up on your Black Flag knowledge. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be released on Oct. 29 for the PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The PC and next-gen versions will be released in November.
