10 Cloverfield Lane managed something virtually impossible in modern Hollywood: Its plot and connection to 2008’s Cloverfield was kept a complete secret up to the day of its trailer release, and even then there was no way to know just how it connected to the previous film until people went to the theater to see it. But, now that the cat’s out of the bag, everyone is looking for possible Cloverfield connections in the next slate of Bad Robot movies coming out in the next few years. Today, we might have just found another one.
Mark Hamill, like many stars who enjoy sharing glimpses of the days before they finally made it big, enjoys posting the occasional photo or two from the sets of Star Wars. Just a few days ago, he shared what might very well be the first ever photo taken of Luke Skywalker in costume out in the middle of the Tunisian desert. Today, another early photo of himself as the young Jedi was unearthed, and Hamill pointed out that Lucasfilm was not keen on letting the public see it for years.

He recently spoke about how excited he was for the movie, and compared its epic scope to that HBO show you might’ve heard of, Game of Thrones.
The Weinstein Company is gearing up for awards season early with announced release dates for two extremely high-profile upcoming films. The first, Mary Magdalene, which stars Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, will hit the big screen November 24, followed by The Current War, Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon’s historical drama, on December 22.
Kate McKinnon’s star is steadily rising, and she’s taking Mila Kunis along for the ride. The SNL favorite is currently in talks to star with Kunis in The Spy Who Dumped Me, an action-comedy from Lionsgate adapted from a script by Susanna Fogel that started a bidding war in Hollywood earlier this week.
Obama hasn’t even been out of the White House for six months and already nostalgia for what used to be has hit its zenith amongst a good portion of the country. Anonymous Content and Universal Pictures are teaming up to adapt a book proposal written by a former White House stenographer, titled From the Corner of the Oval.
With Avatar 2 delayed yet again, it’s starting to sound like we’ll never see James Cameron’s much-hyped return to Pandora and his tribe of blue aliens. That is, unless you can grab yourselves some tickets to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and hop onto their new “Pandora — The World of Avatar” ride. The concept has been teased for months, and today we get our first look inside at all the magic, and, honestly, it looks pretty incredible.
While DC and Warner Bros. continue to fiddle around with their upcoming movie slate, there are still a few that lack directors. To fix this problem, at least for one of their movies, David S. Goyer, who is one of the co-writers of the Green Lantern Corps movie, might also be tasked with directing it.

Sony’s Spideyverse is expanding. After negotiating for joint custody of Peter Parker with Marvel-Disney, the studio started planning a Venom spinoff, which today Sony is fast-tracking to an October 2018 release date.
