Everyone is going to see Avengers: Age of Ultron because it’s filled with big action carried out by men and women in cool superhero costumes. But if it’s anything like the first Avengers, it will resonate because the people in those costumes are a blast to be around. The latest clip from Joss Whedon’s eagerly anticipated sequel is light on action but heavy on group camaraderie. Scenes like this are going to make Age of Ultron a billion dollar movie.

This is a longer version of a scene we’ve already seen in the trailers, featuring the core Avengers team (and a few friends like Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill and Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes) hanging out after a mission, sharing a few drinks and laughs. Then Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye claims that he can pick up Thor’s hammer and the God of Thunder himself (Chris Hemsworth) lets him give it shot. When he fails, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) tries. And then Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Finally Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) gives it a shot, with some very interesting and hilarious results.

If the trailers are any indication, there won’t be many scenes in Avengers: Age of Ultron where these guys aren’t battling for their lives or trying to save the world from a robot army, so it’s nice to know there will be at least a few extended scenes of levity. Truth be told, we would gladly watch a two-hour movie that is just these characters hanging out and shooting the breeze. Avengers: Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015.
