Is it May 1 yet? That’s a question we’ve been asking for months as we patiently await the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron. And while there is so, so much to be excited about in the upcoming sequel (Ultron! Vision! Hulkbuster!), one of the things that’s most intriguing is the introduction of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, the super-powered super-twins. The latest Age of Ultron featurette gives them a proper introduction, exploring their powers and personalities.

Joss Whedon helps introduce Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver in the above video, in which he explains that the siblings were orphaned after their building collapsed when they were just toddlers. We saw the two of them caged up during the post-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, lending some mystery to where exactly it is that they come from.

Taylor-Johnson and Olsen describe their characters, explaining how Quicksilver’s quickness extends to more than just his physicality (he’s also got a short fuse), and Scarlet Witch is “grounded” (Olsen uses this word twice). The latter is able to use her immense power to get into the Avengers’ heads, essentially splintering the group and forcing them to go “somewhere” to reconvene and become a team once more.

There’s a whole lot going on in this movie (it will reportedly also feature appearances from Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Idris Elba’s Heimdall), and we can’t wait for every last second of it. If you’re craving additional info about the twins, we’ll have more on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in a special set visit report next week.

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1 (but you already have that date memorized, don’t you?).
