‘Avengers’ Clip: Tony Stark Fights Back Against Loki’s Threats

Tonight, Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ will hold its world premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in downtown Hollywood. A select audience finally will be able to see the film in its entirety. If you're like the rest of us and won’t be there, we have the next best thing: More exclusive clips from the anticipated blockbuster.

Today’s tease, courtesy of MTV, extends the back-and-forth between cavalier Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and the film’s chief villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). It gives us better context for some of the previously-heard lines. (“It takes us a while to get any traction, I’ll give you that one,” made me laugh out loud.) It explains in more detail how Loki plans to bring a massive army to our planet. And it wonders what happened to the Hulk.

Of course, ‘The Avengers’ comes to theaters in all of its Marvel glory on May 4. In addition to the men mentioned above, it stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and more.
