Word of mouth from Sundance for the new comedy 'Bachelorette' was overwhelmingly positive, and thanks to the first official trailer for the film, we can see why.

The film, directed by Leslye Headland, stars Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, and Isla Fischer as three friends tasked with bridesmaid duty for the old high school friend (Rebel Wilson) they used to lovingly refer to as "Pigface." (Charming.)

Mishaps ensue as the ladies plan the bachelorette party and get a little too rowdy, and it seems like they're scrambling to get their act together for the sake of their friend. The trailer highlights some funny one-liners, particularly from Rebel Wilson, who comments that going to her own wedding in her pajamas makes her like Michael Jackson. Wilson has been a busy lady following her role in that other bridesmaids-centric comedy, 'Bridesmaids' (and yes, the comparisons are inevitable here), starring in 'What to Expect When You're Expecting,' and the upcoming college choir comedy 'Pitch Perfect.'

The first official trailer for 'Bachelorette' is embedded below, and from what we can tell, the Dunst-Caplan-Fischer trio seems like a group of not-so-nice ladies, which should make for some splendid, wince-inducing comedy.

'Bachelorette' also stars Adam Scott ('Party Down' reunion!) and James Marsden and was produced by the crack team of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The film hits VOD on August 10 in anticipation of its September 7 theatrical release.
