Only when one makes a regular habit of watching reality TV does one understand the full breadth of topics it encompasses, from duck magnates, to hoarders to Kardashians, but one area of the market has remained firmly unexplored, and consistently delicious.  That area, my friends, is bacon.

You heard me.  Deadline TV reports that LMNO productions has begun the process of developing a reality TV series around Justin Esch and Dave Lefkow, also known as "The Bacon Boys." The pair famously concocted the idea for their popular BaconSalt on the back of a cocktail napkin in 2007, since building their J&D’s Foods corporation into multimillion dollar company with a mission to make everything taste like bacon.

The two often employ guerrilla marketing stunts for their over-the-top products, most recently the infamous "Bacon Coffin," which would feature into the coming series.  Says the pair of the announcement, “In the great American tradition of making the ridiculous even more ridiculous-er, we at J&D’s Foods look forward to joining the ranks of Snooki, the Kardashians and Flava Flav as America’s next great reality TV stars."

I, like most confirmed humans of the planet Earth, do enjoy a good slice of bacon now and then.  However, I swore off cooking shows after I watched my first installment of 'Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins,' and promptly began bleeding saliva out of my eye sockets.  Could 'Bacon: The Series' be enough to lift that ban?  Pigs can't fly if you're slicing tender meat off its back!

Anyway.  Will you tune in for 'The Bacon Boys,' or does the very thought have you reaching for your heart medication?  Sound off, or fry us up some crispy sound bites in the comments below!
