As if being spoiled by another new Batman game this year wasn't enough, WB Montreal and Splash Damage have teamed to add multiplayer to the mix. But can the dynamic developer duo make playing as Batman and Robin fun?

In the trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins above, you can see just how the online multiplayer for the upcoming sequel will work. Two teams of players take on the role of either Bane's or Joker's gang as they duke it out for control of choice turf in Gotham. A third team of players takes on the mantle of Batman and Robin, and tries to stop both gangs from succeeding.

There are quite a few tricks up both gang's sleeves, and players will even have the chance to play as Bane or the Joker if they're performing well enough. Batman and Robin will have their work cut out for them, but they will have the advantage of the usual array of tricks including grapple guns, Detective vision and more.

Batman: Arkham Origins is due out Oct. 25 on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. Unfortunately, the Wii U version will not be getting the online multiplayer. Check out the trailer, and let us know what you think of the new mode.
