Deathstroke isn't just the co-star of Batman: Arkham Origins' first trailer. In fact, he's going to be a playable character available for free to anyone who pre-orders the upcoming sequel.

This isn't the first time WB Interactive has pulled the old pre-order downloadable content trick on Batman fans. If you purchased a new copy of Batman: Arkham City, you were given an unlock code for a playable Catwoman, including new missions and challenge maps specifically designed for the character. The add-on cost $10 if you didn't have the redeemable code.

Deathstroke doesn't appear to have any story-based missions, but will be playable in all of the games challenge maps. He'll also have two challenge maps of his own, and two different costumes included in the pack. The content will be available on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 versions of the game this October.

What do you think of the incentive? Were you going to pre-order anyway, or did this Deathstroke content push you to reserve a copy?
