Fans walked away from the 'Man of Steel' live event this past Saturday still knowing little about the upcoming sequel, 'Batman vs. Superman.' (So much for all those teased announcements!) But one person who did get to see something more than commissioned artwork was Kevin Smith, the host of said event, and it came in the form of a first look at Ben Affleck in his Batman suit.

"I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume," Smith told Hollywood Babble-On (via Coming Soon). "Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged [Snyder]."

Previously we heard that 'Batman vs. Superman' director Zack Snyder was planning to utilize the Batman costume design from the comic 'Batman: Noel,' though how close he'll actually stick to this concept is still to be seen. However, according to Smith,  "You have not seen this costume in a movie, on film before... Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor." If you need more hype from him, here's Smith's full statement:

I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him [Affleck] in the costume. Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged him [Snyder]. You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like 'Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.' Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor...It was fantastic. I'm already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy ****!' It's its own thing, man. It's like we haven't been down this path at all. I was so elated....Even the hardest core “**** all this” person will be like 'alright, I'm ready.'

The biggest reveal coming out of the 'Man of Steel' live fan event, which was in promotion of the upcoming 'Man of Steel' DVD/Blu-ray release, was Snyder's inadvertent admission of Lex Luthor as the villain in 'Batman vs. Superman.' In addition, he teased the relationship between the two title heroes, saying, "Of course, there will be some physical conflicts."

'Batman vs. Superman' already started filming and is set for release on July 17, 2015.
