While it’s not a new set of official stills from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the opposing duo appear on the cover of Empire magazine, giving us a fresh look at the heroes and their costumes from Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero showdown. As you might expect, Ben Affleck’s Batman looks quite grumpy, while Henry Cavill’s Superman looks positively optimistic and ready to save the world — or defend himself against it.

Empire’s latest cover features Affleck and Cavill in costume as the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, respectively, giving us a better look at the costumes of both characters. Of particular note is Batman’s extreme bulk — he looks almost as ‘roided out as Tom Hardy did when he played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. There’s no way that’s Affleck’s body, even if he committed to intense training regimen, which he likely did. Look at him compared to Cavill! He’s a monster.

With the duo on the cover of Empire, we’re likely to see more photos soon. In the feature, director Zack Snyder describes Affleck’s Batman as “operatic,” while Cavill says the film explores who Superman is to the world: “Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons and Diane Lane, and hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
