As Battlefield fans might have expected, Battlefield 4 will have a Premium membership available for the really hardcore. At Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, DICE outlined exactly what a Premium membership will net fans.

Buying into the Battlefield 4 Premium program will get you the following:

  • Battlefield 4 Second Assault - Four fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3, built on Frostbite 3. Will be available first on Xbox On.e
  • Battlefield 4 China Rising - A content pack that takes place on the Chinese mainland. Available Dec. 2013.
  • Battlefield 4 Naval Strike - A content pack that features ocean battles with the Chinese armada. Available Spring 2014.
  • Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth - A content pack featuring urban warfare as the US strikes back. Available Summer 2014.
  • Battlefield 4 Final Stand - The final content pack that features the epic conclusion of the Battlefield 4 saga. Available Summer 2014.
  • Two weeks of early access to all expansion packs.
  • Unique personalization options, which include camos, paints, emlblems, dogtags and more.
  • Priority position in server queues.
  • New, weekly content.
  • 12 bonus Battlefield 4 Battlepacks
  • The ability to transfer Battlefield 4 Premium memberships from Xbox 360 to Xbox One or PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
The multiplayer beta for Battlefield 4 will kick off in early October and can be accessed by Battlefield 4 Premium members, anyone who pre-ordered Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe and owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter Digital Deluxe and Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition for three days. After this exclusive beta period will be an open beta that will feature the Siege of Shanghai played in Conquest mode.
There's no word on how much a Battlefield 4 Premium membership will cost, but we'll keep you updated as more information is made available. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the Premium membership.
Battlefield 4 will be released on Oct. 29 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions to follow later in the year.
