“Hi, I’m Chad”: Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Try New Names

Benedict Cumberbatch! He has a funny name! And, to his immense credit, the Oscar nominee appears to have a pretty good sense of humor about said funny name.

On last night's ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ host Jimmy Kimmel dispatched Cumberbatch to some (totally fake but still extremely nicely lit) bar in Hollywood to try out brand new names. All kinds of names, really, from the simple (“Chad,” “Ted”) to the more complicated (“Dennis Pokemon”) to the also-famous (“Ruth Bader Ginsburg”). Unsurprisingly, Cumberbatch managed to sell all of them—even a very unexpected Bane impersonation—perhaps earning his Oscar in a totally different arena.
