Despite a large Facebook outcry from the 'Walking Dead' community saying there was no way the popular AMC series could lose to anything else on the tube, the majority of TV-goers have collectively declared through voting in the 2012 ScreenCrush Awards that FX's 'Sons of Anarchy' is top dog

The Kurt Sutter-run biker series was already trending to ride home with the title by the midway mark, but now it's official. When we asked fans to vote for the Best TV Series of 2012, a huge surge of votes positioned 'Sons of Anarchy' as the leader of the pack from the gecko, thousands of votes ahead of 'The Walking Dead.' Don't think this helps the current drama between the two rival shows.

While the zombie-fighting AMC hit nabbed the second spot, 'Breaking Bad' and 'American Horror Story: Asylum' were neck-in-neck for third, though ultimately that fell to the latter. Surprisingly, 'Homeland,' which has swept the awards categories for the Emmys and the Golden Globes, didn't even make the top five, while 'True Blood's' failure in the polls was inevitable after their lack-luster season 5.

Here's the complete list of Best TV Series nominees from the 2012 ScreenCrush Awards, and how they fared:
