Cosplay of the Week: This Black Widow’s Got One Helluva Bite

'The Avengers' may be a movie filled with gods, monsters, aliens, robot suits and super soldiers, but the character of Natasha Romanov (aka Black Widow) proves that you don't need to have superpowers to be in a lineup with the world's mightiest superheroes. A deadly Russian agent turned agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the greatest spy in the Marvel universe has been a popular cosplay subject for years, and few have done it as well as this.

Just like the Black Widow in the Marvel movies (and in the comics, of course), cosplayer StephBot's costume is constructed from form-fitting material that's sexy without exploitative, looking like something that an actual spy might actually wear, if she cared about looking good in the field. She also nails the character's iconic and slightly impractical belt as well as the not-so-impractical wristbands that house deadly gadgets. Naturally, she covers up her natural brunette hair with a character appropriate wig.

StephBot is a 22-year-old cosplayer from the United States who has amassed an impressive gallery of costumes. With an emphasis on her favorite comic book and video game characters, her geek tastes are evident from her work, which ranges from DC Comics icons to lesser-known anime and video game heroines.
