It’s back to the woods we go in the newest trailer for Blair Witch, the surprise sequel to The Blair Witch Project that had one of the coolest reveals in recent memory. Marketed as simply The Woods, Adam Wingard‘s film had an early screening at San Diego Comic Con, at which the real title and connection to the original film was announced. When the audience exited the theater after it was over, they saw that during the screening the big poster advertising The Woods had been swapped for a Blair Witch poster.

The newest trailer doesn’t hint at more of the plot than we already know: the brother of one of the characters from the first film takes a group of his friends back into the woods where the legendary Blair Witch is supposed to live, in order to find out the truth about what happened to his sister. We can assume that, from there, all does not go well. There’s no witch present (yet), but the creepy stick people and claustrophobic and slimy underground tunnel crawling scene that dominates the trailer is pretty horrifying.

Keeping a project as huge as this a secret went oddly smoothly, according to Jason Constantine, President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at Lionsgate. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly he said, “It really has been fascinating, all the CIA-level security that we have put around this project, from the very beginning… Never have we ever set out to make a reboot movie, and keep it in total secrecy, with a brand that’s as well known to the public as this one. It’s incredible to think about how many people needed to know about it to bring this movie to life —and yet we ended up not having any leaks in that regard.”

Blair Witch will have its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, before being released in theaters September 16.
