It's not often independent comics are adapted into video games, but that just so happens to be the case with Image's Blue Estate, a wild romp of a crime thriller being adapted into a first-person shooter for the PC.

Created by Viktor Kalvachev, Blue Estate featured a sprawling crime narrative with multiple characters' lives intertwining with the others in ways only the reader could see. The original comic featured multiple artists working on the separate character stories, providing a unique twist on a familiar frame. It's one of our favorite comics from the past few years, and you'd do well to seek it out regardless of this new game.

Developed by Hesaw for the Leap Motion controller, the Blue Estate game puts you in the role of Tony Luciano. You'll have to run and shoot your way through the various levels, encountering more than a few familiar faces from the original pages. Being designed around Leap Motion means you'll act as the actual man with the gun, and as you can see in the trailer above, the gameplay responds to your movements and directions.

“The Blue Estate comic series is a real labor of love for me, and it’s very cool to see some of the characters come to life off the page in such an amazing interactive way with Leap Motion,” said Viktor Kalvachev, creator of the Blue Estate comic book universe and Creative Director at Hesaw. “Tony Luciano is a good choice of character for the lead role with his sharp tongue and itchy trigger finger. It really is a lot of fun to play and I hope people are going to love it.”

Check out the trailer above. The first installment is due out soon. You can learn more about the comic and the game over at Blue Estate's official site.
