Blue Sky Studios has been one of those under appreciated studios in the world of animation. The talented group of artists have made such great animated features like the 'Ice Age' series, 'Robots,' and 'Horton Hears a Who.' Now, with 20th Century Fox Animation, they're bringing another feature to the big screen, and it's filled with talented actors.

A press release went out today announcing the voice cast for their new movie 'Epic,' and they've managed to gather quite the cast. According to the pres release, 'Epic' is the story of "an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil.  When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours."

Sounds like that could go in a multitude of directions. The movie will be directed by Chris Wedge and produced by Lori Forte and Jerry Davis. Here's a breakdown of the actors hired and their characters:

Beyonce Knowles - Queen Tara
Colin Farrell -  Ronin
Amanda Seyfried - Mary Katherine
Johnny Knoxville - Mandrake
Aziz Ansari - Mub
Pitbull - Bufo
Jason Sudeikis - Bomba
Steven Tyler - Nim Galuu
Blake Anderson - Dagda
Judah Friedlander - Larry
That's quite a cast list. No images yet of the characters, or the parts they play in the story but we're sure that's information that will be released soon. Epic will be released in theaters on May 24, 2013 which means this is a project they've been working on for a while now. Hopefully it looks as great as their other animated features.
