HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire' will begin to pour its last in just a few weeks time, premiering a fifth and final season that jumps into the future of Prohibition-era Atlantic City. We've gone behind-the-scenes and seen a few brief teasers, but at last 'Boardwalk Empire' has set the scene for its big goodbye with a full trailer that promises plenty of action, and change to come.

Lucky Luciano takes most of the spotlight in the full 80-second spot for 'Boardwalk Empire' season 5, though Nucky puts in an impressive threat to offscreen figures, and seemingly winds up hunted as he attempts to go legitimate in a partnership with Bacardi. Things also don't look so great for Van Alden (Michael Shannon), now fully pursued by the police, with his own "Wanted" poster and all, while Chalky White (Michael K. Williams) flees from the law in his own way.

Bewaring spoilers, here's what HBO had to say of the September 7 premiere:

Episode 5.01 - Golden Days for Boys and Girls

Nucky reminisces about catching the Commodore's eye; Nucky joins Sally Wheet in Cuba.

Elsewhere, we know that the final season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ will move forward into 1931, with only eight episodes closing out the series. No major casting announcements for the final season have yet been promoted, though that doesn't surprise, given the haunting first teaser with Nucky in silhouette, amid shots of an abandoned boardwalk.
