The other day we were elated to find a new poster from 'Boardwalk Empire' season 3, a bad-ass new one-sheet that saw Nucky Thompson standing in the rain over the body of a fallen friend, artfully recreating the climax of season 2 finale "To the Lost" under the tagline "you can't be half a gangster."  Sadly, that poster had to be taken down, but what better way to drink to the lost than to check out a brand new 'Boardwalk Empire' season 3 poster?

'Boardwalk Empire' season 3 will undoubtely feature a much darker and mroe frightening Nucky Thompson, a changed man after being forced to murder his own surrogate son Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt).  Certainly the landscape of Prohibition-era Atlantic City will have changed as well, but a full gangster Nucky is the one to keep your eye on.  At least that's what the new poster, courtesy of Vulture would have us believe.

Much like the previous removed poster, the copy reminds us of Jimmy’s words to Nucky in the show’s pilot episode: “You can’t be half a gangster.”

After Michael Pitt’s departure as Jimmy, Paz de la Huerta’s Lucy Danziger will no longer be present,  while joining ‘Boardwalk Empire’s’ third season are Bobby Canavale as wildcard gangster Gyp Rosetti, and character actor Stephen Root in a recurring role. According to reports, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 3 will open some 15 months after the events of “To the Lost,” landing on New Year’s Eve 1922-1923.

Before the September 16 premiere "Resolution," check out the new poster below, and tell us what you’re most looking forward to about ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 3 in the comments!
