Los Angeles-dwellers got an amusing start to 2017, waking up to find that the famed “Hollywood” sign had been altered in the night to “Hollyweed.” Naturally, Tinseltown’s leading expert in altering the Hollywood sign, BoJack Horseman, had to weigh in.

As-yet-unidentified pranksters visited the famous landmark in the night, draping tarps over the latter “O”s to make them look like two “e”s. Many have suggested the joke might reference the recent passing of Proposition 64, legalizing recreational marijuana in 2018, or perhaps the actual “Hollyweed” store, but BoJack Horseman fans would certainly be reminded of the character drunkenly removing the “D” from the sign in Season 1, which has renamed the town “Hollywoo” ever since.

Fortunately, BoJack himself has offered his two cents:

In the meantime, BoJack Horseman will return to Netflix (available in both Hollywoo and Hollyweed) when Season 4 premieres in 2017.

Stay tuned for the latest in the meantime, have a Happy New Year, and stay safe up there.
