If you grew up in the 1980's and skateboarded, you know who the Bones Brigade were. Featuring a very young Tony Hawk, the group (which also featured Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, and Tommy Guerrero) were the rock star skaters of the 1980's, and were celebrated in Thrasher magazine, and in skate videos made by company director Stacy Peralta. Peralta has made a documentary about them as a semi-sequel to his previous documentary 'Dogtown and Z-Boys.'

And for those who did grow up in the 1980's, and worshiped these guys at a certain point in your life, this trailer suggests that you are old. Watching the men of Bones Brigade get emotional about the time in their life where they were champions and heroes really does point out how long ago the 1980's were.

The film screened at Sundance, and will be hitting Blu-ray, DVD and digital download around November 6, and it seems unlikely that the film will be screened in theaters outside of festivals. The film can be purchased at the film's website, and that's where you can also get a free download of the skateboarding film classic 'The Search for Animal Chin' if you give them your email. Here's the trailer:
