The latest 'Brick Mansions' clips make us miss the late Paul Walker all the more. What he lacked in range, he more than made up for in screen presence, playing straightforward action heroes with the best of them. Like so many of his other roles, he's cast as an in-over-his-head police officer here, but let's face it: there was no one you'd rather have playing rogue cops than him.

A remake of the 2004 French action movie 'District 13,' 'Brick Mansions' takes place in a near future Detroit where the most dangerous section of the city has been walled off. This 'Escape From New York'-style situation means that the interior of this zone has become a breeding ground for the most dangerous criminals imaginable ... and Paul Walker is the cop assigned to infiltrate it and take down the man who killed his father.

Like the original French film, 'Brick Mansions' will feature all kinds of wild and crazy parkour stunts, with characters fighting bad guys and eluding death in ways that defy the imagination. Since Walker is playing a sort of normal Joe, his job seems to be to watch in awe as his mismatched crook of a partner (played by parkour creator David Belle) does death-defying things as he struggles to keep up. It's actually a good dynamic for Walker since he was always so much fun as underdogs.

Here's the official synopsis:

In a dystopian Detroit, abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. Undercover cop Damien Collier (Paul Walker) is determined to bring his father's killer, Tremaine (RZA) to justice and every day is a battle against corruption.

'Brick Mansions' is directed by Camille Delamarre and will leap into theaters on April 25.
