'Brick Mansions' Trailer: Paul Walker Goes 'Fast and Furious' ... But With More ParkourNick Romano |
The first 'Brick Mansions' trailer has debuted online, debuting footage from one of Paul Walker's last films. The late actor, famous for his turn in the 'Fast and Furious' movies, stars in this similarly action-packed tale, except this time instead of The Rock and Vin Diesel, he's got the co-founder of Parkour by his side.
No, seriously -- David Belle, who also stars in 'Brick Mansions,' is the actual co-founder of the Parkour discipline. He was featured in the French film 'District B13,' the original material on which this American remake is based, and he brings his famous moves to the big screen once again.
From the official plot synopsis of 'Brick Mansions,' courtesy of Relativity Media:
In a dystopian Detroit, abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. For undercover cop Damien Collier (Paul Walker) every day is a battle against corruption. For Lino (David Belle), every day is a fight to live an honest life. Their paths never should have crossed, but when drug kingpin, Tremaine (RZA) kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, Damien reluctantly accepts the help of the fearless ex-convict, and together they must stop a sinister plot to devastate the entire city.
Paul Walker tragically died in a car accident last November, though his final films are still being released. Aside from 'Brick Mansions,' his Hurricane Sandy drama, 'Hours,' debuted last year, and Universal is reportedly revamping portions of 'Fast and Furious 7' to give Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, a proper retirement when the film is released in 2015.
As for 'Brick Mansions,' it will be released through Relativity Media on April 25.
