Captain Marvel is kind of a big deal for the Marvel Cinematic Universe — it’s the studio’s first solo woman superhero movie, and as such, it’s attracted the attention of a few leading ladies. Emily Blunt told us last year that she’d love to play the superhero, while Jessica Chastain has also expressed interest. And now Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard is throwing her name out there, too.

Now that she’s played with the dinosaurs in Jurassic World, Cinema Blend asked Howard which major franchise she’d like to join next. She responded immediately with “Marvel,” to which it was suggested she might be great for the role of Captain Marvel. To say that her response was enthusiastic would be an understatement:

Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let’s start a campaign now. That would be rad. Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That’s the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it’s who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey – it’s not just about set pieces. It’s really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film.

As mentioned above, Jessica Chastain has also expressed interest in playing the role of Carol Danvers, making Howard’s remarks even more delightful since the actresses are often compared to one another — Chastain herself posted a video of Howard singing about how she’s not Jessica Chastain:

Anyhow, Marvel is certain to be considering a wide range of actresses for the part of Carol Danvers in their Captain Marvel film, and either one of these ladies would be wonderful as superheroes in the MCU.
