#FriendsDay

Posted by Captain America on Thursday, February 4, 2016

Even though Steve Rogers is gearing up to head into battle with about half of the people he considers friends, that hasn’t stopped the hero from participating in Facebook’s #FriendsDay. The official Captain America account shared its very own video montage celebrating all of Steve’s friends and a couple of his soon-to-be foes.

If you’ve logged onto Facebook in the last day or so, you’ve undoubtedly been besieged by these #FriendsDay video montages, which basically just collect photos of you, your friends, and you with your friends to reinforce the idea that true friendship can only happen with a social media account. Steve Rogers got his very own friendship celebration video, which is kind of funny considering what’s about to happen in the MCU — and also kind of sad, to be honest. Steve probably knows how to use Facebook by now, you know?

Maybe Black Widow can show this video to Steve and Tony to help them settle their differences in Captain America: Civil War and remind them of all the fun stuff they’ve done together.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and approximately 100 other people, and hits theaters on May 6.
