We already know that ‘Captain America: Civil War’ will stir some conflict between Iron Man and Captain America, and that Daniel Bruhl has recently been added to the mix as a mysterious villain in the film that will kickstart Marvel’s massive Civil War storyline in the studio’s third phase. And now ‘The Winter Soldier’ star Frank Grillo is teasing his return for the upcoming sequel, seeking to further complicate things for our heroes.

Though it had been rumored that Grillo’s Crossbones would make a return, the actor has seemingly confirmed it in a new interview with EW, teasing his involvement with ‘Captain America: Civil War’:

[Winter Soldier] was only a taste of what’s to come with the next film, and I couldn’t be more humbled and excited. They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove….We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’

It’s still pretty early in the process, so the extent of his role and involvement is not yet clear. Crossbones/Brock Rumlow was embedded with Hydra in ‘The Winder Soldier,’ so we'll likely see him fighting on the more nefarious side of things once again, which is about all we can assume for now. Daniel Bruhl is said to be the primary villain of the film, and his villain is also said to appear in ‘Doctor Strange,’ which has raised some confusion among fans, as Captain America and Doctor Strange share very few common enemies.

Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will reprise their roles as Iron Man and Captain America, respectively, while Chadwick Boseman will make his debut as Black Panther, and it’s been rumored that Jeremy Renner may make a small appearance in the sequel. ‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
