At their Comic Con panel over the weekend Marvel announced the official title of their 'Captain America' sequel: 'Captain America: The Winter Solider,' which implies the return of Cap's best friend Bucky Barnes. But it looks like Marvel is also looking to add Falcon to the roster.

THR reports that Anthony Mackie is currently in talks to play Falcon, aka Sam Wilson. Wilson's character hails from Harlem and gets his powers from a super suit that gives him incredible strength and the ability to fly and communicate telepathically with birds. Falcon is notable for being one of the first black superheroes in comics history and enjoyed a solid run in the 70s, fighting crime alongside ol' Cap.

The subtitle of the latest sequel implies a more recent storyline in the comics, in which Bucky Barnes is brainwashed into becoming an assassin known as "The Winter Soldier." 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' will be directed by the team of Joe and Anthony Russo ('Community') and will feature Chris Evans reprising the role of the star-spangled hero.

Mackie gained recognition for his role in Kathryn Bigelow's 'The Hurt Locker,' and can be seen in 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' He also has a rather impressive slate of films on the horizon, including Michael Bay's 'Pain and Gain,' and 'Runner, Runner,' co-starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake.
