The critical failure of Cameron Crowe’s last cinematic venture somewhat changed the conversation around the Almost Famous director’s upcoming Showtime Roadies, and it seems Mrs. Holloway will no longer be helping with PR. Following Christina Hendricks’ earlier exit from the project, Carla Gugino has stepped in as Roadies‘ new production manager.

Showtime’s Roadies follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes — the crew members who get the show on the road. Fresh off HBO’s The Brink and FOX’s Wayward Pines, Gugino steps in as the band’s production manager Shelli, a world-class multi-tasker, music fan, and partner to the band’s tour manager (Luke Wilson), with whom she clashes personally and professionally.

According to insiders, the character underwent “a complete revamp,” for which Hendricks exited the role. Also starring in the series are Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Peter Cambor,  Machine Gun Kelly, and Game of Thrones Season 5 star Keisha Castle-Hughes. Oscar-winner Crowe will both write and direct the pilot, with My So Called Life alum Winnie Holzman serving as eventual showrunner.

Roadies has had a bumpy go of it thus far, but Carla Gugino certainly marks a fitting replacement of Christina Hendricks, even with the character change. Will Showtime’s latest turn Crowe’s criticism around?
